Karen Bodine

On the early morning of Monday, January 22, 2007, a woman by the name of Karen Bodine was found naked on the side of a road, not too far from her childhood home. Her body wasn’t hidden. It was left out in the open for anyone to see in an area well known to be a dumping ground. She was left there with no identification, or personal items and the only evidence found with her was the ligature she was strangled with. It was reported that her body was laid on top of a vehicle bucket seat, just a few feet from the road.

Karen was last seen at a local party house where drugs and alcohol flowed freely. She was staying at this house after her boyfriend had kicked her out of their home during an argument. This house, in the middle of town had many people in and out over that last weekend of Karen’s life. During the initial investigation police questioned these last known contacts. However, law enforcement have not released much information on any persons of interest or what came from these interviews.

Local media reported that Karen was a transient and a drug addict and because of this many believe her murder was not investigated as it should have been. And even more heartbreaking, Karen has three grown children waiting for the day their mom receives justice. Her daughter, Karlee Bodine has fought tirelessly telling her mother’s story in hopes of getting answers.
